Former Journalist Trust Kyomugisha Nominated for Kabale Woman MP Seat
Former Voice of Kigezi Radio presenter Trust Kyomugisha has been officially nominated to contest for the Kabale District Woman Member of Parliament seat as an independent candidate in the 2026 general elections.
Her nomination was confirmed at 10:06 a.m. by Aisha Nansubuga, the Kabale District Electoral Commission Returning Officer, at the district offices on Makanga Hill in Kabale Municipality.
Speaking to journalists after her nomination, Kyomugisha thanked her supporters and outlined her plans for the people of Kabale. She said she chose the radio symbol to represent her campaign because it reflects her commitment to inclusive, respectful, and transparent leadership that gives every resident a voice.
Kyomugisha pledged to improve maternity services, strengthen education and health facilities, and support infrastructure development throughout the district.
She also promised to promote peaceful and respectful campaigns, urging voters to choose leaders based on competence and integrity rather than religion or political affiliation.
