Bishop Asili Memorial Nursery School Graduates 48 Pupils in Colorful Ceremony
Kabale — Bishop Asili Memorial Nursery School on Saturday, November 22nd, held a vibrant and joyful graduation ceremony at the school premises in Kamukira Village, Kirigime Parish, Southern Division of Kabale Municipality. The event marked a major milestone for 48 young learners who successfully completed their nursery education and are now ready to transition to the next level.
The day’s celebrations began with the Holy Sacrifice of Mass led by Rev Fr Placid Mugumya, the school chaplain and Secretary to the Bishop of Kabale Diocese , Rt Rev Callist Rubaramira , who described the graduation as “a sign of hope” for both learners and parents. He noted that while the little graduates may not fully understand the value of their gowns and certificates, the occasion helps parents visualize a bright future for their children.
Fr Mugumya explained that such ceremonies motivate families to work harder toward future academic achievements, including university and college graduations. “This moment encourages parents to dream big for their children,” he said.
The event attracted excited parents, guardians, teachers, and invited guests who gathered to celebrate the children’s accomplishments. The graduates showcased their talents through songs, dances, and poems, earning applause from the crowd.
The guest of honour, Mrs Peace Rugambwa, the Senior Presidential Advisor on Agriculture and a prominent NRM mobiliser—represented by Mrs Pamela Kihumuro—praised the school for its dedication to nurturing young learners. She applauded Bishop Asili Memorial Nursery School as one of the best-performing institutions in Uganda.
“The foundation laid here today will shape these young minds into future leaders and innovators,” Mrs Rugambwa said. She also urged parents to take good care of their children during the long end-of-year holiday and the upcoming festive season.
The school’s headteacher, Sr Magret Tusiime, expressed pride in the learners’ progress and encouraged them to maintain their determination as they advance academically. The colorful ceremony concluded with the awarding of certificates, gift presentations, and a celebratory cake-cutting session, leaving parents and pupils with cherished memories of a special day.
