Kyagulanyi Promises Unity and Poverty Eradication During Ntungamo Mobilisation Drive
National Unity Platform (NUP) President and 2026 presidential hopeful, H.E. Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu, has pledged to prioritize the fight against poverty and strengthen national unity if elected in the upcoming general elections.
Kyagulanyi made the commitment during a mobilisation tour in Ntungamo Municipality, where he addressed a large gathering of supporters and officially opened new NUP district offices. The visit drew significant crowds from within the town and surrounding communities.
Speaking at the rally held under tight security, Kyagulanyi said his leadership plan is centered on improving the lives of ordinary citizens through fair access to national resources and economic empowerment.
“We are committed to ending poverty among our people and restoring hope through equal opportunities,” he said. He urged Ugandans to unite beyond tribal, political, and religious differences, adding that division weakens the country’s progress.
Kyagulanyi encouraged citizens to uphold peace and cooperation, noting that his approach is aimed at fostering a shared national identity and collective development.
NUP leaders, including Magambo Rubahamya, an aspiring Member of Parliament for Ntungamo Municipality, expressed confidence in Kyagulanyi’s message. Magambo said the call for unity and poverty eradication resonates strongly in Ntungamo and across the Kigezi sub-region. He pledged to work alongside Kyagulanyi to promote development initiatives in the area.
Kyagulanyi also appealed to security agencies and local authorities to allow political activities to proceed peacefully as his team continues mobilization efforts in Rubaare, Kabale, Kigezi, and neighboring districts ahead of the 2026 elections.
