KABALE – Kabale Diocese has officially received a newly completed three-storeyed commercial building in Kigongi, opposite the Gateway Bus Park, in a major investment expected to boost the Diocese’s financial sustainability while contributing to economic growth and employment in the Kigezi sub-region.

The building, constructed by Archcivil Contractors and Building Limited, was completed in one and a half years before being officially handed over to the Diocese. The handover ceremony was attended by the Assistant Financial Administrator of Kabale Diocese, Rev. Fr. Davis Keinamura, accompanied by members of the diocesan administration and officials from the construction company.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Director of Archcivil Contractors and Building Limited, Engineer Anatoli Mucunguzi, said the company successfully completed the project within the agreed timeframe due to its commitment to professionalism, quality and timely delivery.

“We completed this project in only one and a half years because delivering quality work on schedule is our commitment. With our long experience in the construction industry, we have built the capacity to execute projects efficiently while maintaining the highest standards,” Mucunguzi said.

He thanked Kabale Diocese for entrusting the company with the project and reaffirmed Archcivil Contractors and Building Limited’s commitment to delivering quality engineering and construction services across Uganda.

Residents praised the Diocese for investing in infrastructure that is expected to transform the business environment in Kabale Municipality.

Mr. Ahimbisibwe John, a resident of Kigongi, said the Diocese had demonstrated confidence in the community by investing in commercial infrastructure, noting that development is also part of the Church’s mission.

“These commercial buildings create employment opportunities, provide business space and improve people’s livelihoods. Kabale Diocese has shown that serving God also means transforming communities through development,” he said.

He commended the diocesan leadership for the remarkable development projects implemented across the six districts of the Kigezi sub-region.

Ahimbisibwe also paid tribute to the retired Bishop of Kabale Diocese, Rt. Rev. Callist Rubaramira, describing him as a visionary leader whose leadership laid a firm foundation for both spiritual and socio-economic development.

“Bishop Rubaramira has been an outstanding leader whose vision has transformed the Diocese. He deserves recognition for the progress achieved during his tenure,” he said.

He expressed confidence that the new Bishop of Kabale Diocese, Rt. Rev. Bonaventure Gubayire, would continue building on the legacy of his predecessor by spearheading further development initiatives alongside the Church’s pastoral mission.

Another resident, Ms. Ketty Asiimwe, a Protestant Christian, applauded Bishop Rubaramira for promoting unity and peaceful coexistence among people of different faiths.

“He is a true servant of God who loved everyone without discrimination. His leadership united people across religious denominations and inspired many through humility, compassion and service,” she said.

The newly commissioned commercial building is expected to generate revenue to support the Diocese’s pastoral and development programmes while providing modern business premises that will create employment opportunities and stimulate economic activity in Kabale Municipality.

Archcivil Contractors and Building Limited has established itself as one of Uganda’s trusted engineering and construction companies, earning a strong reputation for delivering quality projects on time.
