Hon. Wilfred Niwagaba Nominated to contest for Ndorwa East Parliamentary Seat
Kabale — The incumbent Member of Parliament for Ndorwa East Constituency, Hon. Wilfred Niwagaba, has officially been nominated to contest for a fifth consecutive term in the upcoming parliamentary elections. The nomination was confirmed by Ms. Aisha Nansubuga, the Kabale District Returning Officer, at the Electoral Commission offices in Makanga in Kabale Municipality.
Following his nomination, Hon. Niwagaba addressed journalists, reaffirming his dedication to advancing the welfare of the people of Ndorwa East through impactful legislation and development-oriented initiatives. A long-serving legislator and influential member of Parliament’s Budget Committee, Niwagaba stressed that his continued presence on the committee allows him to directly influence national budget priorities that benefit his constituency — particularly in education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
“Education is the foundation of progress,” he remarked, pledging to lobby for increased funding for school renovation and construction across Ndorwa East. He reiterated his commitment to ensuring that teachers receive fair treatment and that students learn in well-equipped environments.
On healthcare, Hon. Niwagaba vowed to advocate for the upgrade of existing health centers and the establishment of new Health Center IIIs and IVs to improve access to essential medical services. He underscored the importance of primary healthcare investment as a key driver of community well-being.
Infrastructure remains another cornerstone of his agenda. Niwagaba pledged to secure more resources for road rehabilitation, rural electrification, and community development projects. He cited tangible achievements from his previous terms, including successfully lobbying for UGX 2.4 billion to construct major roads such as Kitibya–Mishundo–Kabanyonyi Road and the Kitibya Bridge. Additionally, over ten permanent bridges have been built during his tenure, enhancing transport and trade within the constituency.
Agriculture — the economic backbone of Ndorwa East — has also benefited under his leadership. Niwagaba initiated a program that provided forked hoes to every household, aiming to boost productivity and household income. He stressed that supporting farmers remains a central part of his development strategy.
Explaining his campaign symbol — a watch — Hon. Niwagaba said it symbolizes timely and efficient service delivery. “Everything must be done promptly and with purpose. Time is of the essence when it comes to development,” he said.
As a lawyer and advocate for the underprivileged, Niwagaba has consistently used his platform to champion fairness, transparency, and equitable access to opportunities. His leadership style — defined by accountability, accessibility, and tangible results — has earned him wide respect both in Parliament and among his constituents.
With a proven record of delivering on his promises, Hon. Wilfred Niwagaba’s bid for re-election is anchored on continuity, experience, and sustained progress. As the campaign season intensifies, he stands before the people of Ndorwa East not merely as a politician seeking votes, but as a dedicated servant leader eager to continue transforming lives through action, not words.
