Government to Construct Shs 2 Billion Road in Ndorwa East
Kabale -Uganda. The government has announced plans to construct another road worth two billion shillings in Ndorwa East Constituency to improve transportation and support agricultural trade.
Speaking at Kavu Health Centre II on Friday , the Member of Parliament for Ndorwa East, Hon. Niwagaba Wilfred, said the project will involve the construction of an 8-kilometre road starting from Ahankyiro, passing through Kavu, and extending to Omukagana.
Hon. Niwagaba explained that the funds for the road were secured through his lobbying efforts with the Ministry of Agriculture, with support from the World Bank. He further said that the project is aimed at improving road infrastructure to enable farmers to transport their agricultural produce to markets more easily.
Niwagaba revealed that the improved road network will particularly benefit farmers dealing in pineapples, onions, coffee, avocados, and other agricultural products, thereby boosting household incomes and local economic development.
The legislator reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that communities in Ndorwa East access better infrastructure to support agriculture and overall development in the area.
