St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Kyanamira Sub-county on Saturday held its Bishop’s Annual Appeal Fund (BAAF), bringing together Christians, clergy, and leaders to support the growth of the newly established parish.

During his homily, Rev. Fr. Bruno Serunkuma, the Director of Lay Apostolate and Lay Movements in Kabale Diocese, who represented the Bishop of Kabale Diocese, Rt. Rev. Callist Rubaramira, warned Christians against being misled by money given out during the political season in exchange for votes. He stressed that the future of leadership is far more valuable than the small amounts often offered to influence voters.

Fr. Serunkuma encouraged the faithful to vote for capable and responsible leaders who will serve the people diligently, rather than those who rely on handouts. He also called for peace and discipline on polling day, urging Christians to avoid violence and any form of riotous behaviour.
