Bishop Rubaramira called upon Christians to remain committed to their faith and to seek God without delay

Kabale Diocese — The Bishop of Kabale Diocese, Rt. Rev. Callist Rubaramira, on Tuesday confirmed 275 Christians from Kyanamira Parish into the Catholic faith, marking a significant milestone for the newly inaugurated parish.

While delivering his message during the confirmation Mass, Bishop Rubaramira called upon Christians to remain committed to their faith and to seek God without delay. He encouraged the faithful to use the Advent season as a special time to draw closer to God as they prepare for the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.

The Bishop expressed happiness at the steady growth and development of Kyanamira Parish, noting that despite its recent establishment, the parish is already showing positive signs of progress. He applauded the Missionary Fathers serving in the parish for their dedication and tireless efforts in guiding the Christian community both spiritually and socially.

The confirmation ceremony was witnessed by the Godparents, Hon. Wilfred Niwagaba, the Ndorwa East Member of Parliament, and Hon. Catherine Ndamira, the Kabale District Woman Member of Parliament. In their remarks, the two leaders urged Christians to remain united and to stay focused on household development as a foundation for community growth.

They reaffirmed their commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at fighting poverty, particularly through animal rearing programs designed to improve household incomes. Hon. Niwagaba further emphasized his intention to empower the youth by supporting boda boda initiatives as a means of promoting self-reliance and economic development among young people.

Kyanamira Parish was inaugurated in August 2025 as the 42nd parish in Kabale Diocese, having been curved from Rushoroza Parish. The parish is under the leadership of Fr. Charles Nikiema as Parish Priest, assisted by Fr. Armel Somda (M. Afr.) and Fr. Balthazard Buhalagarha Grace.

The parish is currently preparing to host its Bishop’s Annual Appeal Fund (BAAF) on January 3, an event expected to attract prominent leaders and Christians from within and outside the diocese. Funds raised during the appeal will be used to facilitate the completion of the parish church to a better standard.
