Bishop Asil Nursery and Primary School Lauded for Academic Excellence
Rev. Fr. Placid Mugumya, the secretary to the Bishop of Kabale Diocese Rt. Rev. Callist Rubaramira and chaplain of Bishop Asil Nursery and Primary School, has commended the school for raising the flag of academic excellence in the country.
Speaking during the dedication ceremony of 97 Primary Seven candidates held at the school in Kirigime, Southern Division, Kabale Municipality, Fr. Mugumya described Bishop Asil as an epicenter of academic excellence, particularly in national mathematics contests, debates, and drama.
He applauded the school’s management and teaching staff for maintaining high standards and nurturing disciplined learners who continue to excel both academically and morally.

Meanwhile, the Headteacher, Sr. Margaret Tusiime, thanked parents for their unwavering support and cooperation. She pledged the school’s continued commitment to training learners to become responsible and patriotic Ugandans.
The colorful event was attended by several dignitaries, including Retired Major Godfrey Katamba, the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Kabale District, and Mr. Isaiah Kanyamahane, the RDC of Kitagwenda District.
In his remarks, Mr. Kanyamahane praised the government for prioritizing education and commended Bishop Asil School for its consistent performance. He noted that the school, which ranked first nationally in the 2017 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), has continued to produce excellent results.
“Bishop Asil has set a standard of excellence, and I have no doubt that this year’s candidates will pass with flying colors,” Kanyamahane said.

On his part, Retired Major Katamba assured the public that Kabale District remains peaceful and secure, following the arrest and prosecution of the recent panga-wielding criminals who had caused concern in the area.
He further assured parents and school authorities that all candidates across the district will be safe as they sit for their Primary Leaving Examinations on November 2nd and 3rd.
