‎‎As Senior Four candidates across Uganda count down the hours to begin their Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) exams on Monday , Immaculate Heart Girl’s School Nyakibale , a girls ’ secondary school located in Southwestern Uganda, held a special Dedication Sunday to spiritually prepare its students for the academic challenge ahead.

‎

‎The ceremonial mass , led by Rev. Fr. Conrad Atuheire, the parish priest of Nyakibale Parish in Rukungiri , brought together students, staff, and members of the school community in a moment of prayer, reflection, and encouragement. Rev Fr. Atuheire praised the candidates for their commitment and hard work throughout the academic year, highlighting their efforts through reading, serious discussions, tests, and exams. He, however, emphasized that academic preparation alone is not enough.

“Our Students who are now candidates have done their best. Now it’s time to let God do His wonders,” Fr. Atuheire said. “Those who trust in God have been amazed and uplifted. But those who do not, despite their efforts, often walk away disappointed.”

‎He encouraged the students to open their hearts to God, trust in His plan, and use the day to meditate and listen to His voice.

‎ “Today is not a day for anxiety. It is a day to relax, reflect, and hear God’s voice. Those who have heard Him have become wonders in the world,” the Priest added.

‎Rev.Fr. Atuheire also spoke highly of the school, describing Immaculate Heart Girls school as a “role model in the region and across the country”, expressing confidence that the school will shine once again in both academics and character.

‎The Dedication Sunday is a long-standing tradition at Immaculate Heart Girls’ School Nyakibale , and, according to the Priest , it has been a key factor in the school’s continued success. He described the school as a “shining star” in the country, not only for academic performance but also for its emphasis on discipline and moral values.

‎

Meanwhile, the Deputy Head Teacher Sr. Grace Naturinda reaffirmed the school’s commitment to nurturing the girl child holistically.

‎

‎ “We have done what is required not only in academics but also in shaping character. Immaculate Heart Girls School is not just a star in exams, but also in discipline and morals,” She said.

As UNEB exams begin, Immaculate Heart Girls’ School  remains hopeful that its combination of academic preparation and spiritual grounding will guide its candidates to success.
