KABALE — The General Secretary of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), Hon. Daudi Kabanda, has endorsed Hon. Eliab Naturinda Mporera, the NRM flag bearer for Ndorwa West Constituency, as a focused and unifying leader capable of driving community development.
Kabanda made the remarks on Sunday while attending a thanksgiving and fundraising ceremony at Rwancerere Church of Uganda in Butanda Subcounty, Kabale District. The event was organized to raise funds for the construction and improvement of infrastructure at Rwancerere Primary School.
Hon. Kabanda praised Naturinda for his commitment to education and grassroots development, highlighting the need for fresh, development-minded leaders who can rise above religious and political divisions to unite Ugandans.
“Our country needs leaders who prioritize unity and development over division. Eliab Naturinda represents a new generation that is focused on service delivery and transformation,” Kabanda said.
He also commended the voters of Ndorwa West for their bold decision to support new leadership during the NRM primaries, where Naturinda emerged victorious over long-serving State Minister of Trade, Hon. David Bahati, who has represented the constituency for two decades.
Kabanda noted that while voting by lining up is challenging, it demonstrated the will of the people. He encouraged all those who supported Naturinda in the primaries to turn out in even greater numbers during the general election next year.
“We must ensure that the will of the people is reflected at the ballot box. I urge you to turn up in full force next year and send Eliab to Parliament,” he added.
He further urged residents to continue supporting the leadership of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, calling him a pillar of peace and stability in the country.
A Pledge to Serve and Unite
Hon. Eliab Naturinda Mporera, the host of the event, reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people of Ndorwa West. He pledged to focus on unity, education, and development.
“As a young and focused leader, I am committed to working for the people of Ndorwa West. I will be a unifying figure and a driver of development,” Mporera said.
Support from Other Aspirants
Also present at the event was Grace Bekunda Bwesigye, who is aspiring for the Kabale District Woman MP seat. She expressed her confidence in Naturinda’s leadership and urged the electorate to rally behind him.
“This is a great opportunity for Ndorwa West. Eliab represents hope and a new chapter of progress for our nation,” she said.
The fundraising event brought together local leaders, church members, and community residents, all united in a common cause: improving education infrastructure and supporting new, visionary leadership.
