‎St Paul’s Secondary School Bukinda has continued to cement its reputation as one of the leading academic institutions in the Kigezi region, emphasizing holistic education, discipline, and skills development.

‎During a visit by Light News Network, the Deputy Head Teacher in charge of Academics and Director of Western Campus, Mpamizo Gozanga, explained how the school is implementing the new curriculum while maintaining high academic standards.

‎Gozanga said the school focuses on providing services tailored to the needs of every learner. According to him, the institution ensures that students receive an all-round education where their academic, health, and personal development needs are well catered for.

‎ “Our approach is to provide education that responds to what brings a child to school. We ensure the child is secure, healthy and academically supported,” he noted.

‎He revealed that the school registered 197 candidates for the 2025 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examinations, and all candidates passed in Result One, demonstrating the school’s strong academic culture.

‎According to Gozanga, the candidates collectively scored 43 A grades and 720 B grades, while the rest attained C grades. Notably, no student scored an E, highlighting the institution’s consistent academic performance.

‎The deputy head teacher attributed this success to the school’s firm foundation in discipline and Christian values, which guide students both academically and morally.

‎In addition to academics, the school has integrated vocational and practical skills training into its learning programs. Students are given opportunities to acquire additional skills that prepare them for life beyond the classroom.

‎

‎“We have incorporated vocational elements so that learners gain practical skills alongside academic knowledge,” Gozanga explained.

‎

‎He further noted that the school operates two campuses — the Western Campus and the Eastern Campus — which help accommodate the growing student population while maintaining quality learning environments.

‎Over the years, St Paul’s SS Bukinda has maintained a top position among schools in the Kigezi region, competing with some of the best institutions in the area.

‎Gozanga emphasized that the new curriculum places strong focus on competencies and practical skills, including communication, interpersonal relations, and creativity, which are essential for students to succeed in the modern job market.

‎“With adequate space and facilities, the school is able to provide holistic education that equips learners with both academic excellence and life skills,” he said.

‎The institution’s continued commitment to discipline, academic performance, and competency-based learning has positioned St Paul’s SS Bukinda as a key contributor to educational excellence in the region.
