Musasizi Hails Kabale for Backing Museveni as Byamugisha Sworn In Again as Mayor
KABALE — The State Minister for Finance (General Duties), Henry Musasizi, has applauded the people of Kabale for overwhelmingly voting for President Yoweri Museveni, saying the district’s 71.6 percent support reflects confidence in the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM).
Musasizi, who also serves as the NRM chairman for Rubanda District, said President Museveni’s new term from 2026 to 2031 would focus on transforming household incomes and fighting poverty through wealth creation initiatives.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony of Emmanuel Byamugisha at Kabale Municipal Stadium, Musasizi urged residents to embrace government programs such as Operation Wealth Creation and the Parish Development Model (PDM).
“He said during his inauguration at Kololo that the 2026–2031 term is for no sleep. The President wants Ugandans to get rich and move out of poverty through agriculture, manufacturing, tourism, and science and technology,” Musasizi said.
The minister was the chief guest at the ceremony where Byamugisha officially received the instruments of power following his re-election as Mayor of Kabale Municipality.
In his remarks, Byamugisha pledged to improve infrastructure within the municipality, including the tarmacking of roads, as Kabale intensifies preparations to attain city status.
He said better roads and improved urban services would help position Kabale as a modern and competitive urban center in the Kigezi sub-region.
During the function, Musasizi also awarded certificates to councillors in recognition of their dedicated service and hard work during the previous council term.
The event attracted political leaders, local residents, and supporters from across Kabale and neighbouring districts.
