Kabale NRM Chairperson Asinga Pays Tribute to Fallen Party Stalwart Mulenga
KABALE — The National Resistance Movement (NRM) leadership in Kabale District has expressed sorrow following the death of veteran party mobiliser and businessman Christopher Mulenga.
Bridget Asinga, the NRM Chairperson for Kabale District, described Mulenga’s death as a significant loss to the party and the wider Kigezi community.
Asinga said Mulenga played an important role in strengthening the NRM at the grassroots, particularly through his involvement in party activities and mobilisation in Kabale.
She noted that his contribution extended beyond politics, with the deceased also being known for his business activities and engagement with the local community.
“Christopher was a committed member of the NRM who gave his time and energy to the party and to the people of Kabale. His passing has left a gap that will not be easy to fill,” Asinga said.

Mulenga, who previously served as Kabale District NRM treasurer, died on Friday after battling illness for several years. His death has prompted messages of condolence from political leaders, friends and members of the community.
Asinga urged NRM supporters and residents of Kabale to stand with Mulenga’s family during the mourning period, saying the best way to honour his memory is to preserve the values of service and commitment that he demonstrated during his lifetime.
She also encouraged party members to remain united as they remember a colleague who contributed to the development of the NRM in the district.
Mulenga’s involvement in Kabale politics dates back several years. In 2018, he was reported as serving as Kabale District NRM treasurer and chief whip, while also representing the Northern Division at the district level.
His death marks the loss of one of the longstanding figures associated with the NRM’s activities in Kabale and Kigezi.
