754 Graduate at Mayanja Medical Training Institute Mbarara
A wave of celebration and pride swept through Mayanja Medical Training Institute Mbarara on Saturday as 754 graduates walked across the stage, marking the culmination of years of dedication, sacrifice and determination. The ceremony brought together students from diverse disciplines—nursing, midwifery, laboratory technology, and clinical medicine—each poised to enter the health sector at a time when their skills and compassion are needed more than ever.
The highlight of the event came when Professor Joram Kabakyenga, the Acting Managing Director of the institute, stepped forward to deliver his heartfelt message to the new health professionals. With a calm but compelling tone, he reminded the graduands that their journey was just beginning.
He urged them to enter the world of healthcare “with pride, humility and purpose,” emphasizing that the professions they were stepping into were more than jobs—they were callings.
“Your work,” he told them, “is not merely a profession but a responsibility that demands integrity, empathy and excellence.” His words lingered in the air, resonating deeply with the graduates who had spent years learning not just the science of healing, but also the humanity behind it.
Many graduands could be seen wiping tears, hugging their families, and capturing the moment with bright smiles and raised certificates. For some, it was the first graduation in their families. For others, the ceremony marked a long-awaited milestone toward serving communities in need across Uganda and beyond.
Parents and guardians beamed with pride, tutors applauded the accomplishments of their students, and the atmosphere buzzed with hope, optimism and gratitude.
