St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Parish in Kyanamira, Kabale Diocese, on Saturday marked a historic moment by raising UGX 81 million during its first-ever Bishop’s Annual Appeal Fund (BAAF) climax — just four months after becoming an official parish.

The fundraising event, held at the parish, was the first BAAF organised since  its  elevation to parish status . Despite its young age, the parish showed strong organisation, unity, and commitment to supporting its own growth.

Parish Priest Fr. Charles Nikiema was credited by Christians  with strengthening connections across the parish by visiting all Small Christian Communities and encouraging local involvement in parish programs.

Hon. Wilfred Niwagaba, an area Member of Parliament, also praised the parish for its strong faith and unity, contributing through efforts that helped raise additional funds.

The Guest of Honor, Mr. Levic Kagoro, who contributed UGX 5 million, several bags of cement, and additional support to the parish choir, encouraged Christians to live a life of service to God by supporting His work. He said that generosity toward God is the best way to live, adding that those who give to God are never forsaken but continue to grow in peace, blessings, and financial stability.

District Woman Member of Parliament Catherine Ndamira, who was represented at the function by her husband Didas Ndamira, praised the strong coordination and organization of the Church despite its young status as a new parish. She also encouraged Christians and community members to participate in the forthcoming elections peacefully, calling on voters to maintain calm and unity on January 15, 2026.

St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Parish, Kyanamira, was inaugurated in August 2025 and has since grown into a center of unity and committed service to God. The parish is under the pastoral care of the Missionaries of Africa (White Fathers), whose leadership has strengthened evangelization and community development.
