President Yoweri Museveni on Monday launched his Kigezi sub-region campaign at Shaza Playground in Kisoro District, placing the 4-acre model at the center of his message to voters. Beginning his tour in Kisoro and Rubanda, the President emphasized that household prosperity remains the most sustainable path to national development.

Speaking to thousands of supporters, Museveni broke down the 4-acre model as a practical approach to transforming rural livelihoods, urging families to adopt enterprises that guarantee steady income and food security.

The model, he explained, includes:Coffee farming as a strategic cash crop,Fruit growing, particularly high-value varieties,Pasture for zero-grazing dairy farming  and Food production for home consumption, mainly grown in the backyard

He further encouraged additional enterprises such as poultry for eggs, piggery, and fish farming, especially for communities living near or around wetlands.

Museveni stressed that the 4-acre plan is not theoretical but a tested approach that has already helped many families transition from subsistence farming to commercial agriculture. “When every household embraces an enterprise that brings in money regularly, poverty will be history,” he told the crowd.

The President continues his campaign trail today in Rukiga and Kabale, where he is expected to deliver a similar message focused on wealth creation and economic empowerment. He will conclude his Kigezi tour tomorrow with rallies in Kanungu and Rukungiri, before heading to his next regional engagements.
