Sixty Primary Seven pupils from Bishop Asil Memorial Nursery and Primary School in Kabale were on Sunday confirmed into the Catholic faith by Kabale Diocese Bishop, Rt. Rev. Callist Rubaramira. Among the sixty, one pupil also received the Sacrament of Baptism.

The confirmation ceremony was part of a larger event held at Kabale Stadium, where a total of 442 Christians from various schools and Christians drawn from Christ the King Parish were confirmed.
According to Edmond Buhamizo, the school’s catechist, catechism lessons at Bishop Asil begin right from the first term of primary seven, ensuring that pupils grow spiritually alongside their academic development. He noted that the school encourages learners to uphold Catholic norms and values, which help them make wise decisions in their daily lives, remain morally upright, and defend their Christian faith.
Sister Margret Tusiime, the head teacher, expressed joy over the event, saying Bishop Asil Memorial is not only recognized for its academic excellence but also for being a Catholic-founded institution that prioritizes discipline, prayer, and placing God first. She attributed the school’s continued success to God’s presence among the learners and staff.
While delivering his homily, Bishop Rubaramira urged the newly confirmed Christians to always allow the Holy Spirit to guide their lives. He stressed that the Holy Spirit is the power through which God is reflected in their actions and decisions.
